Betty Lynn had a shaky start in life with a mentally abusive father, who she barely had contact with when growing up. At just 17, she auditioned to join the entertainment unit of the United Service Organization (USO). She toured with them and performed at the China Burma India Theatre.Lynn soon landed on the radio followed by Broadway, and it subsequently led to a natural transition to the big screen. She most notably featured on The Andy Griffith Show, portraying the role of Thelma Lou. While she’s now retired she still makes time to meet her fans at Mount Airy, NC.
